Welcome to the Alexia Center Association

The Alexia Center Association strives to become the premier online center for people with Alexia or Dyslexia and those with visual impairments due to traumatic brain injury or stroke and their caretakers. Alexia is the name given to a condition that is also refered to as Dyslexia or Word Blindness. See the 'Education' link for more information about this.

Alexia Center Association has developed into a mission that provides information and support center for people with Alexia, Alexia without Agraphia, Pure Alexia, Word Blindness, Dyslexia, Word Aphasia or other reading impairments for themselves and their caretakers. Today, Alexia Center provides a growing portal that offers:

* Information on Alexia, or Alexia without Agraphia, Dyslexia or other aquired reading or visual impairment
* The library of audio books online that are focused on self-development, personal empowerment and self-help at low or no cost to people with alexia
* Support to writers that offer self help of information that are on written form only and to create audio publications of that work
* A clearing house for data and practical help for people with alexia or other visual impairments
* Networking for support groups for people with Alexia, Dyslexia or other visual impairments from traumatic brain injury or stroke.

Alexia impacts thousands people worldwide, and stroke is the third largest killer in the world. Little known to a cure or therapy is available. Until today, there has been no central support information site for people with alexia and their caretakers, but technological advances in computer hardware, software and mobile devices have given us great hope to help those in need of support.
